Williams Pokam Kamdem is a lecturer-researcher in the Department of History and Archaeology at the University of Dschang. Since 2021, he has been working on gender issues, in particular women's role in economic conflicts.

Within the Center for gender, peace and security (CGEPS), he is in charge of the "Gender, Economy, Peace and Security" research team (GEcPS) ". 

A doctor in economic and social history, his researches focus on the history of energy, the history of public action and economic security in Africa. He has been fellow of the Institut d'Études Avancées (IEA) de Nantes and visiting researcher at the Université de Nantes in 2019-2020. He is the author of some twenty publications.
