Senior researcher and head of the "Gender, Societal Change and Peace (GSCP) research team" at the Center for Gender, Peace and Security (CGEPS), Dr. Ariane NGABEU holds a PhD in French Language and Literature at the department of Romance Studies at Boston University where she had a Presidential Teaching Fellow Assistant in French for five years. She became the first Director of the Middlebury school abroad in Cameroon from 2012-2023, hosting college and graduate students from various US institutions for study abroad experience and immersive French and Medumba languages. Since August 2023, Dr. Ngabeu is Assistant Professor of French and Francophone Studies at the Department of World Languages and Cultures at Howard University Washington DC.
Her fields interest range from African Literature and Digital Films, Cultural Studies, Gender Studies, and Postcolonial Theory. In 2015, she contributed to the Dictionnaire universel des créatrices. In 2021, she published Les enjeux de la modernité dans le roman africain au féminin (L'Harmattan, Paris). She has also authored numerous scientific articles on gender issues in Francophone Africa, culture and identity, postcolonial theory, and more. Her experience in Gender issues led her to join the Centre for Gender, Peace and Security (CGEPS) as head of the « Gender, Societal Changes and Peace (GSCP) Research team ».
